Temperince Shines in the Show Ring: A Big Step Forward in Horsemanship
There are some days that remind us why we believe so deeply in hard work, patience, and raising the next generation with grit.
Temperince had a wonderful showing recently, and we could not be more proud of her passion, focus, and love for horses.
At the District 4-H Horse Show, she was awarded Intermediate Speed Events High Point Champion in her division and English Division Reserve Champion in her division. Those honors came after a strong day of riding, competing, and showing the kind of determination that makes us proud both in and out of the arena.

Her class placings included:
1st Place – Flag Race Intermediate, Class 26
1st Place – Pole Bending Intermediate, Class 29
1st Place – Stakes Race Intermediate, Class 32
2nd Place – Hunter Hack, Class 12
3rd Place – Hunter Under Saddle Senior, Class 9
3rd Place – Hunt Seat Equitation Senior, Class 11
5th Place – Western Horsemanship Senior, Class 18
6th Place – Showmanship at Halter Intermediate, Class 6
7th Place – Halter Gelding, 6 Years & Older, Class 4
8th Place – Western Pleasure Senior, Class 16
The Halter Gelding class is judged primarily on the horse’s conformation and overall quality, so that placing reflects how her gelding stood against the other horses in the class. Her other placings reflect the work Temperince and her horse put in together through performance, communication, and horsemanship.
And that is what makes it special.
Horse showing is not just about ribbons. It is about learning how to stay calm under pressure, how to trust the animal beneath you, how to correct and keep going, and how to be proud of the work even when everything is not perfect.

Temperince also had another big day at Cadence Equestrian Center in Edmond, Oklahoma, where she competed in her first show at Level 5. She has only been riding at this level for about a month, which made the day an important step forward in her English riding journey.
Her placings for that show were:
18” Equitation on the Flat – 3rd place out of 7
18” Equitation Over Fences #1 – 6th place out of 7
18” Equitation Over Fences #2 – 6th place out of 7
Her instructor was very pleased with her performance. Bianca was a little slower that day and dropped her feet on one jump, but Temperince stayed focused, rode through it, and gained valuable experience.

One of the sweetest parts of the day was seeing how proud Temperince was of Bianca. At 18 years old, Bianca gave her all, and Temperince understood that. Their partnership continues to grow with every ride, built on patience, trust, and respect.

Temperince said she was nervous, had fun, and is already ready to do it again.
That says a lot.
Stepping into a higher level takes courage. Competing, learning, adjusting, and still enjoying the journey takes heart. We are so proud of the way Temperince is growing as a rider and as a young horsewoman.
Next up, she has tryouts for the IEA team next Sunday for English riding. We will be cheering her on every step of the way.
Around here, we believe legacy is not just what gets handed down. It is what gets practiced every day.
For Temperince, that looks like boots in the dirt, hands on the reins, a steady heart, and a deep love for the horse beside her.

Thank you for following along with our family’s journey. From the pasture to the show ring, we are proud to raise the next generation with faith, hard work, and respect for the land and animals we care for every day.
