A State Show to Remember: Congratulations to Temperince & Bobbi!

What a way to wrap up our very first Oklahoma State 4-H Horse Show.

Three days, nine events, three ribbons, new experiences, personal improvements, and plenty of memories later, we could not be prouder of Temperince and Bobbi.

Of course, bringing home ribbons is exciting. But this State Show gave Temperince something even more valuable: the opportunity to see how far her hard work has taken her, learn from competing at a higher level, and step up when someone else needed her help.

For a first trip to State, it was certainly one to remember.

Day 1: Starting State Strong

Temperince and Bobbi started their State Show competing in the speed events.

They came away with some great results:

• 5th place in Flags
• 9th place in Poles
• 11th place in Stakes

That 11th-place finish in Stakes was especially close. Temperince finished just 0.10 seconds away from placing, completing her run in 12.1 seconds.

What made that run even more meaningful was the improvement she had made since Districts.

Her time at Districts was 13.1 seconds, which means she shaved a full second off her previous run.

That may sound like a small number, but in an event where fractions of a second can separate competitors, it represents a lot of work.

Every practice, every correction, and every hour spent with Bobbi contributed to that improvement.

She may have narrowly missed the ribbon in Stakes, but seeing that progress was something worth celebrating.

Day 2: Stepping Up for Another 4-H Family

Day 2 brought an experience we had not expected.

A family from Major County found themselves without their scheduled 4-H groom after their groom had to leave for church camp.

Without a 4-H groom, the family would not have been able to compete.

Temperince was asked if she could step in.

And she did.

She had the opportunity to work ringside as a 4-H groom, helping prepare a horse for one of the Two-Year-Old classes.

It gave her the chance to experience another side of the State Show, learn what happens behind the scenes, and help another family continue competing.

For us, this was one of the most meaningful moments of the entire week.

Horse shows are about competition, but 4-H is also about service, responsibility, leadership, and helping others.

Temperince did not hesitate when another family needed someone.

Sometimes the moments that make you proudest do not come with a ribbon.

Day 3: Finishing State With Another Ribbon

Temperince and Bobbi returned to the arena on Day 3 and finished their first State Show on a strong note.

This time, they competed in Hunter Hack, an English class that calls for a very different style of riding than the speed events from earlier in the week.

They finished with a 9th-place ribbon in Hunter Hack.

It was a wonderful way to close out three busy days at State.

Watching Temperince compete across different events and disciplines has been especially rewarding. Each one asks something different from both horse and rider, and every class gives them another opportunity to grow together.

Nine Events. Three Ribbons. So Much to Be Proud Of.

Over the course of the Oklahoma State 4-H Horse Show, Temperince competed in nine events and brought home three ribbons.

For her very first trip to State, that alone is something to celebrate.

But when we look back on these three days, the ribbons are only part of what made the experience special.

Temperince improved her time.

She competed at the State level.

She experienced close finishes.

She adapted from speed events to English competition.

She stepped in to help another family.

She gained experience that she can carry into every show that comes next.

And through all of it, she and Bobbi continued learning together.

That is what makes us proud.

Congratulations to Temperince and Bobbi on an incredible first Oklahoma State 4-H Horse Show!

Nine events. Three ribbons. A personal-best run. New experiences. And one very memorable first trip to State.

We are proud of the work Temperince has put in, but we are even more proud of the sportsmanship, responsibility, and willingness to help others that she showed throughout the week.

The ribbons will always be special, but watching her grow as a rider and as a young person means even more.

Congratulations, Temperince and Bobbi. You both worked hard for this, and you represented yourselves well.

Looking Ahead

One of the best things about working with horses is that there is always more to learn.

There will always be another skill to improve, another goal to work toward, and another opportunity to become a better horseman.

Temperince and Bobbi will take everything they learned from their first State Show and carry it forward.

For now, though, we are going to enjoy this one.

Their first Oklahoma State 4-H Horse Show is officially in the books, and it gave us plenty of reasons to be proud.

We are grateful for everyone who has encouraged Temperince, supported her along the way, and followed her journey with Bobbi.

We cannot wait to see what next year holds.
